Barra Shopping is the largest mall in the city, and possibly the largest in Latin America. Shopping mall with 577 shops and one of the biggest and tacky shopping malls and the largest office complexes in South America. New York Times recently wrote an article were they called Barra da Tijuca  Rio hot spot with Miami Vibe.
